Our program operates under the guidelines set up by the North American Riding for the Handicapped Association (NARHA).  We are a NARHA MEMBER OPERATING CENTER.

Rising Stars offers instruction in Western riding and English driving.  Sessions are usually held out doors in a enclosed area.  We offer sessions starting late in May and running through October.  Please call or write for details.

Eligibility for services is based on the fact that the participant must have a serious mental illness.  Cost of participation in the program is subsidized by grants, donations by community organizations and individual contributions.

Specialization is in assisting individuals with mental illness meet individual goals through learning basics horsemanship skills and learning to ride/ drive a horse. Our staff consists of 2 registered level riding instructors, who are also certified counselors. We also utilize volunteers.

All participants benefit from or develop increased self esteem/ self confidence.   Prevocational skill development occurs.  Participants will enhance interpersonal skills.
